A higher salary can still buy a smaller life.
Compare net pay in a common currency, then add a purchasing-power lens. We keep the two views separate, because an exchange rate and a cost-of-living index answer different questions.

How accurate are the calculations?+
Detailed models use current statutory bands and common employee contributions. Standard models are explicitly labelled planning estimates. Every country page shows scope, review date and sources so you can judge the result.
Does the calculator include social security?+
Yes. Employee-side mandatory contributions are shown separately from income tax. Where a system is unusually complex, we use a documented annual approximation rather than hiding it inside one number.
Can I compare salaries in different currencies?+
Yes. Enter one amount in your preferred currency. We convert it into each local currency before applying local tax, then translate the result back for a like-for-like comparison.
What does purchasing-power adjusted income mean?+
It scales net income using a broad country cost index. It is useful for orientation, but it is not a personal budget and does not replace city-level rent, healthcare or childcare research.
Is my salary data stored?+
No. All calculations run in your browser. The share button puts inputs in a URL only when you choose to create one; there is no account and no salary database.
Can I calculate the gross salary needed for a target net?+
Yes. Switch to Net to gross above. The engine solves progressively until it finds the gross income that produces your requested take-home amount.
One salary. A world of different outcomes.
Start with a transparent estimate, then take the assumptions to a qualified local adviser.
